ZADR Sample pg. 8

Zim couldn't take it. It was too good. He pushed his lips deeper into Dib's. Then he, very slowly, unwrapped his arms from Dib's massive head. He pulled back and released their lips. Dib eyes opened and he smirked, Zim also.
Dib couldn't resist. He widened a grin and wrapped his arms tighter around Zim. Zim rolled eyes big, red eyes and hugged back.
After a moment of the long hug Zim felt Dib's chin push slightly against his shoulder then pulled back in.
"Your human traditions..." Zim unwrapped his arms and faced Dib once again.
"What do you mean?" Dib questioned in confusion.
"Sleeping,"... I think it is called. What you humans do each evening."
"Oh. Yeah," Dib yawned once more before continuing, "I am really tired. Do you sleep? Cuz I've never seen you sleep that I know of."
"Invaders don't sleep. Sleeping just distracts from from their mission."
He yawned again. "What if...you just try it? It could make you less...insane..."
"...Fine...Zim will try this, sleeping, since its something else you humans do...We could do your sleeping on the bed." Zim stood up and turned his head the inside the room.
Dib turned and saw the one circular bed in the middle of the purple, irken wallpaper hotel room.
"Only one bed?" Dib whined, as if he were a little kid complaining.
Zim sighed. "That's what I said."

There was an uncomfortable silence...
"Soooo...who's ganna have the bed?" Dib finally said after a moment. Zim shifted and met Dib's gaze.
"I think the might ZIM should!" the invader shrieked his own name out. "Since I am so superior." His hands rattled as he said the last word in a low tune.
"NO WAY! I'm your stupid sampl-...ly... thing. And you brought me here, which I didn't want to come here anyway!" Dib quickly added.
Zim hesitated in thought.
"So...do we...are we both sleeping on it?" The human ducked his head hiding a light blush.
The irken looked at Dib then to the bed. He started to the bed and sat on the soft comforting. Dib got up as well and walked to where Zim was.
"I guess I take that as a 'yes'." Dib slightly smiled and blushed more.
Zim shrugged his shoulders. He sighed and reached back and pulled the neat, tight covers and sheets of the bed. He stood up in his spot and got under the warm blankets.
Dib stared at the irken sitting in the empty bed. Zim smirked and patted the empty space next to him. The human blush deepend.
"You comfortable? Humans don't really sleep in their day clothes...sometimes any clothes." What was he saying? Did he really want Zim to sleep without his uniform?
Zim grin spread. "If it's something you humans do." He gripped the end of his long shirt and pulled it off his head. He reached out and plopped it on the ground.
Dib's eyes widened, his heart raced. He yawned, still tired. He finally gave in and walked to the empty side of Zim. He pulled up the covers and came inside. He got comfortable on top of the lush bedding. It felt like a bed of cotton.
"Wow...comfy!" Dib said. He stopped then stated, "We forgot to shut the door."
"We?...you were the last one out."
Dib sighed and got out of the bed, shut the balcony door and sat back in his spot.
Zim clapped his gloved hands and the lights flickered off.
Dib burrowed himself under the covers, facing Zim next to him. The irken did as the human. Zim noticed Dib's eyes were completely closed, so he did the same.
After a while Zim heard a light sound. Heavy breathing in and out. Dib was finally asleep....
As so was Zim...
